50 Cent and Jermaine Durpi recently won honors at the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) Pop Music Awards.

50 won Songwriter of the Year for writing or co-writing five award-winning songs in 2005. Though titles of the award winning songs were not revealed, Fif was nominated and won awards for his own "Candy Shop" and "Just A Little Bit" as well as The Game's "How We Do" and "Hate It Or Love It" throughout 2005.

Dupri won Song of the Year for co-writing and producing Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together." The song tied with alternative group Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" for the award.

In related news, Lil Jon was recently named Songwriter of the Year at the Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) Pop Awards. The award marked the third time Jon was recognized by BMI. The king of crunk was acknowledged for penning "Lovers and Friends" featuring Ludacris and Usher, Ciara's "Goodies" and Ying Yang Twins' "Salt Shaker" in 2005.

Meanwhile, Jazze Pha won Internet Song of the Year award for writing Ciara's "1, 2 Step" while The Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am and Pharrell Williams also went home winners.
