Bei den heute stattfindenden World Music Awards in Monaco ist 50 Cent in der Kategorie HipHop/Rap nominiert *Zusammen mit Jay-Z, Kanye West, Ludacris & T.I.*
Zudem wird er dort auch Performan!

November 4th 2007 marked the 19th World Music Awards, back in the Principality of Monaco for the first time in several years.
An emotion charged evening was highlighted by performances by the world’s top recording artists, who received awards not by jury vote, but as recognition for their worldwide sales.

In an emotion swept speech, announcing Patti Labelle’s Legend Award for outstanding contribution to R&B music, Ciara named Patti as “the High Priestess of Good Vibrations”. Patti’s benevolent attitude was best summed up with her own words… “It’s not about making money, because I don’t need money, but I need to sing.”
His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, presenting Celine Dion’s Legend Award, praised the Canadian artist. According to the Prince, “Her contribution to music is as potent as her courageous voice.”

50 Cent Named Best Selling Hip-Hop Artist In The World
Queens, New York rapper 50 Cent was named the worlds best selling Hip-Hop artist at the 19th Annual World Music Awards in Monaco on November 4.
The World Music Awards featured performances by a number of the worlds top recording acts, including Rihanna, Avril Lavigne, Mexican band Mana and others.
50 Cents latest album Curtis helped him win the Worlds Best Selling Artist Award, which is determined by actual sales figures gathered from countries across the globe, as opposed to a voting process.
Akon took home three awards, including Best Selling R&B Male Artist, Best Selling African Artist and Best Selling Internet Artist.
"You are witness to seeing me receive any kind of award for music the first time in my life," Akon told the crowd.
Other big winners during the evening included Mika who took home four awards, including Best Selling Male Entertainer and Worlds Best Selling Pop/Rock Male Artist and Avril Lavigne, who won Best Selling Pop/Rock Female Artist and Best Selling Canadian Artist.
Shaggy won Worlds Best Selling R&B Male Artist and Entertainer of the Year, while Rihanna took home the Worlds Best Selling Pop Female award.
Generations united as R&B legend Patti Labelle and Canadian singer Celine Dion were honored with the Legend Award. Newcomer Ciara introduced Patti Labelle the the High Priestess of Good Vibrations, while Prince Albert II introduced Dion and honored her for selling over 200 million records worldwide.
The 19th Annual World Music Awards was sponsored by 80-year-old English fashion brand Belstaff.
Proceeds from the event will benefit a World Music Award hospital being built in Darfur.

50 Cent hat den Längsten!
In der Heimat musste er einen Tiefschlag hinnehmen, aber weltweit macht ihm so schnell kein anderer Rapper was vor.
Okay, so ähnlich. Aber wir wussten, dass ihr diese Headline klicken würdet, ihr kleinen Ferkel! Nee, aber im Ernst... 50 Cent war bei den diesjährigen World Music Awards in Monaco tierisch angesagt. Dort verlieh man ihm am Wochenende nämlich den Award für 'World's Best Selling Hip Hop Act'. Das ist wahrlich Balsam für Fiddy's Wunden, die er sich in der Heimat beim Battle mit Kanye West zugezogen hat. Doch die World Music Awards richteten das Spotlight nicht nur auf die oberen 10.000, sondern taten auch Gutes. Die Einnahmen der Verleihung werden komplett in den Bau eines Hospitals in der Krisenregion von Darfur investiert!

World Best Selling Hip Hop Act = 50 Cent
Jetzt isses offiziell mit Stempel. Kanye West hat zwar mit seinem Album “Graduation” in den Staaten mehr Einheiten verkauft als Fiddy mit “Curtis“, doch die Welt steht hinter 50 Cent. Bei den World Music Awards 2007, vergangenes Wochenende in Monaco kürte man 50 Cent zum “World Best Selling Hip Hop Act“! What? What?
Bei den Amis wird deswegen auch schon kräftig gehatet. Aus einem Sohh.com Artikel: 50 Cent: “Mein Album war international in der ersten Woche bereits Nummer 1 international!”. Sohh.com konnte keine Zahl finden, die die europäischen Verkäufe nicht berücksichtigen. Es sieht wohl so aus, als ob sie auch zählen!”
